Northwestern State University seeks qualified applicants for the position of Instructor/Assistant Professor.

Position starting date will be August 12, 2024.  Review of applicants will begin immediately and will remain open until filled. Rank will be determined upon credentials, experience and other qualifications. This position will be funded through a combination of a grant and/or the operating budget for one year and is planned to continue beyond that time through the operating budget. This position is a non-tenure-track position. However, with agreement of pertinent parties, time worked in this position may be applied towards tenure if the position becomes fully funded through the operating budget. Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory background check and educational credential verification.

Doctorate in Computer Information Systems or close equivalent, master's, and ABD will be considered (will expect completion within three years). All complete applications will be considered. Preference given to applicants with extensive knowledge/experience in multiple platforms (Apple, Windows, Linux, Red Hat, etc.), classroom and teaching technologies, and an outstanding record of teaching performance in both face-to-face and online classes.
Applicants with knowledge/experience in various CIS areas (programming, networking, databases, security, etc.) will be considered. Applicants must be legally authorized to work at Northwestern State University.Teach 12 to 15 credit hours of undergraduate related computer information systems courses. Graduate courses may be available depending on credentials and expertise. Engage in scholarly activities including research and professional publication. Participate in professional service activities within the School, College, or University. Other duties as assigned by the Director of the School of Business.
