- A relevant Bachelor’s degree with at least three (3) years of directly related occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught, OR a relevant Associate’s degree and four (4) years of occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught, OR a relevant Certificate and five (5) years of occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught*
- Must have relevant current professional certification and/or licensure in the field to be taught.
- Must have appropriate educational qualifications, as determined by the relevant programmatic accreditation agency, to act in the required positional role.
- Candidate must have extensive knowledge of the instructional discipline and technical education, including electrical theory, circuit design and operation, the national electrical code (NEC), blueprint reading, OSHA, NCCER, construction blueprint interpretation, AC and DC theory, series and parallel circuits, motor and generator theory, motor controls, lighting and appliance wiring, and testing and repair. Must be an expert with the tools, materials, and methods used in residential wiring. troubleshooting circuits for faulty operation, and ability to make repairs.
- Evidence of a commitment to teaching/learning and vision of a learning-centered institution and community.
- Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Requires technical competency in advanced manufacturing/industrial engineering technology, personnel management, project management, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team on complex projects.
- Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear and handle or feel objects and controls.
- Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 10 pounds.
- Must be capable of sitting in stationary position for 50% or more of time.
- Must be capable of walking, standing, bending for 40 % or more of time.
- Provide complete lecture and laboratory instruction for all Electrician Technology classes; see required skillset below in Qualifications.
- Ensure all students are properly trained and equipped with safety equipment during all lab/shop exercises.
- Maintain advising hours
- Serve on professional committees
- Participate in community service and professional development
- Recruit students into the program
- Collect program and student data
- Put together information reports on the program progress
- Participate in Advisory boards
- Assists in the development and modification of curriculum as necessary
- Meet expectations as a faculty member as described on the agreement
- Other duties as assigned
