Job Description:  

This Technician position performs moderately complex engineering duties in a variety of field and office specialties.  

In the Winter and Spring months, the position will be responsible for estimating and design duties including:

  • Assist as a resource for the Region’s LiDAR efforts and assist with cross slope analysis,
  • Assist in developing roadway alignments with processed LiDAR files, and,
  • Completing quantity and cost estimating for highway pavement preservation projects.

 

In the Summer and Fall months, the position may act as a construction inspector on active construction projects.  Duties may include:

  • Construction inspection and documentation,
  • Measuring and quantifying construction materials for contractor payment,
  • Construction material sampling and testing, and,
  • Ensuring contractor’s work conforms to the contract specifications.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

Five (5) years of experience in engineering –OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.
