Summary/Primary Purpose: The Camp Kroc Junior Aid is responsible for supporting Camp Leads and assisting as directed with guidance for campers and monitoring of summer day camp activities at The Salvation Army Kroc Center. Responsibilities include the ongoing supervision, equipment care, and promotion of all programs related to Camp Kroc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, leadership and mentoring to all day camp children, guests, staff and volunteers of all ages, ethnicity, and backgrounds.
- Proactively ensure a safe and clean environment for all day camp staff, volunteers, members and participants.
- Assist the Camp Lead and/or Camp Counselor as directed with monitoring activities provided by the day camp program including programming in all areas (i.e. gym, sports fields, pools, game room, classrooms, resource room, theater, festival plaza, etc.)
- Report any behavior issues or modifications needed for campers to the Camp Lead and/or Camp Counselor.
- Provide additional support as needed to all Kroc program staff, instructors, interns and volunteers.
- Participate in designated staff training.
- Attend all scheduled team and staff meetings as directed by the Education Department.
- The work schedule is Monday-Friday and may include a pre or post weekend day or evening event.
- Serve and clean up areas after breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
- All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Education and/or Experience: Must be at least 15 years old. Experience working with children is preferred.
