Job Class: Social Worker Senior

Job Summary

Provide social work services for the applicants and residents of the Minnesota Veterans Home-Luverne; to provide agreement and input to determine proper placement of applicants requesting admission; to carry out planning and implementation of social service programs for residents of the home.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Minnesota Social Work License
• One year of professional Social Work experience

Note: If you are not currently licensed in Minnesota as a Social Worker, you must be able to obtain licensure by date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with electronic charting system
• Experience working with Veterans
• Professional experience in long term care, healthcare, or working with senior populations.

Physical Requirements

Perform a variety of movements throughout the day such as walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, stooping, carrying, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling

Additional Requirements

This position requires successful completion of the following:

• A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on all finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check
• A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment
• Employment reference checks will be conducted on all finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
• Finalists may be required to pass a driver's license check
