What you'll do:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in appropriate coursework or in the field of Education. OR a Bachelor’s degree and certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
TO
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in Special Education: and, Four or more years of post-baccalaureate special education teaching experience in a school accredited by a governing agency (such as the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or the North Central Association on Accreditation and School Improvement). (Possession of a valid teaching certificate in special education issued from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will substitute for the specialized coursework.) OR A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in Special Education; and, Two or more years of post-baccalaureate special education teaching experience in a school accredited by a governing agency (such as the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or the North Central Association on Accreditation and School Improvement). OR A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education; and, Three or more years of post-baccalaureate special education teaching experience in a school accredited by a governing agency (such as the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or the North Central Association on Accreditation and School Improvement). (Possession of a valid teaching certificate in special education issued from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will substitute for the specialized coursework). OR a Bachelor’s degree and specialized certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Special Requirements: Must possess a valid drivers license; Ability to obtain an appropriate Temporary Authorization Certificate (TAC) issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
