Why you’ll love this position:
The Compliance section monitors special education programs for students with disabilities ages 3-21, in all public schools and approves private agencies to serve students enrolled in public schools. The section also conducts Child Complaint investigations.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate and manage contractual requirements related to IMACs, Con Log, and other center-based tools.
- Work with Department and other Office of Special Education (OSE) staff to develop and implement strategies for evaluating, disseminating, and analyzing OSE’s IDEA Part B activities.
- Communicate with district personnel, assisting them with reporting data, interpreting rules and instructions for submitting and updating data, and analyzing and correcting inaccuracies in submitted data related to IDEA Part B activities.
- Compile reports to analyze data related to the State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report indicators and related monitoring requirements.
- Produce and interpret queries, from IMACS, Con Log, and other center-based tools regarding Part B general supervision activities as requested by other Department staff, other agencies/organizations, the legislature and the general public.
- Evaluate statistical data to assist the OSE in establishing norms to determine compliance with Part B regulations and/or policies.
- Use the Department’s conference planning platform to plan and hold Special Education Director Academy and other annual conferences/training events as needed.
- Manage the day-to-day activities and program development required for the operation of the Educational Surrogate Program.
- Perform office web maintenance activities.
- Organize section work and coordinate workflow, establish priorities, adhere to deadlines and review work for adequacy and accuracy.
- Process correspondence and phone calls, make meeting and travel arrangements, and other related work as assigned.
All you need for success:
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or High School Equivalency, completed a training program, and/or possess work experience that has prepared the individual to perform the duties of a program analyst.
