The Position
Under general supervision, Education and Information Officers research issues of concern to the agency and the relevant target population; develop, coordinate and/or present educational programs; review, revise and monitor courses of instruction to reflect current marketplace and applicable law; audit instructor presentations to ensure quality instruction is provided in accordance with program requirements; facilitate communication among the target population and State and federal agencies; develop media releases, newsletters and informational brochures. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Under general supervision this position will conduct research and analysis of a variety of topics and matters that affect the Division and provide written reports or analysis to be used by Administrators. Also coordinate educational programs for Division's licensee base, facilitate communication with Licensees, and public via our website, written/electronic communications and printed literature. Assist in maintaining the timeliness and accuracy of information on our website. Assist, follow and track legislative sessions for bills that directly and indirectly affect the operation of the Division. Coordinate, implement and oversee changes to the operation of the Division when NRS/NAC are added, amended, or repealed. The employee will need to be able to professionally communicate on the phone, email or written communication to all types of audiences. Coordinate, draft, and implement desk procedures and manuals. May participate and represent the Division in community events or attend conferences. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an area of specialization relevant to the agency to which assigned and two years of professional experience which included responsibilities for researching, writing, instructing, and presenting informational and educational material; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
