The Position

Psychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, in an institution or out-patient setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Rural Clinics (RC) is recruiting for a full time Psychiatric Nurse 2 in Silver Springs, NV. This position can be located and/or provide services at any of our Rural Clinics locations. Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both adults and children in 16 clinics which are located in 12 counties across Rural Nevada. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery and follow Agency procedures and reimbursement guidelines. Any position that requires licensure to provide clinical services requires the person to be actively working towards licensure and once obtained, maintain the license without lapses and be in good standing with applicable licensing boards. Rural Clinics has been designated as a loan repayment site through the Health Research and Services Administration (HRSA) National Health Services Corps (NHSC). Any person providing specific services may be eligible to receive student loan repayment. Rural Clinics provides ongoing training including release time to attend training not Agency-sponsored. This position provides direct psychiatric nursing services for consumers, including assessments and therapeutic interventions; organizes and oversees medication services including tele-medication services for prescribers; Client and family education on medications, health related issues; Monitors effectiveness of treatment and side effects; provides consultation and education to consumers, the community, and other service providers.
