Why does the job exist?
Incumbent will be participate in standard plumbing duties while receiving training in more complex areas of Installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems. Incumbent duties will extend to other related fields or entities within NMBHI, to include: air conditioning, grounds, electrical, gas, heavy equipment operation, line location, instrumental usage, and any other related jobs within code requirements and defined by the supervisor.
How does it get done?
Incumbent will assist the licensed Plumber in maintaining compliance with codes, performing building rough-in duties within NMBHI grounds for the various fixtures which will increase proper hygiene and services, maintenance on emergency propane back-up equipment, and perform semi-annual conversions of natural gas to propane.

Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidate will have:
Experience with ground keeping;
Experience with building plans, valve locations, code compliance, etc;
Experience with read and draw blueprints ;
Experience with assisting carpenters, plumbers, painters and electricians as needed.
Minimum Qualification
Three (3) months of plumbing experience.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's license.
Working Conditions
This position will perform work at the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute, both indoors and outdoors. Some standing walking, stooping, bending and lifting a minimum of one hundred (100) pounds with assistance may be required. Effective 01/01/2015, New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/ E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus. Department is Plant Technology. Shift 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
