Purpose of Position

Why does the job exist?
The successful candidate will lead efforts to reduce rates of violence for adults and children in New Mexico. The incumbent will plan, develop, implement and support evidence based violence prevention programs. The position will be responsible for monitoring program activities and working with program partners to increase their capacity to prevent violence and implement evidence based programs. The successful candidate will build and maintain collaborative relationships with program subcontractors and stakeholders. The incumbent will be responsible for oversight of the violence prevention budget and related contracts. The postion will be responsible for grant writing, and may prepare and issue RFPs The successful candidate will be responsible for continuing implemtation of the Violence Intervention Fund and compliance with the provisions of NMAC 7.1.19.11.The chosen candidate will work as part of team with injury epidemiologists, evaluators, and prevention coordinators in the Injury and Behavioral Epidemiology Bureau (IBEB).

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Substitutions apply. See Substitution Table below.

Working Conditions
