What You Will Do at ODM:

Job Overview:

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking an experienced information technology professional to drive technology to meet ODM’s business needs. You will be responsible for working with internal/external IT teams, business areas, and vendors to support major projects and systems including the modular Ohio Medicaid Enterprise System (OMES). As an IT Risk Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• working collaboratively to balance efforts toward supporting ODM IT risk compliance and data security

• managing IT security and risk services including:

  • Data management and protection

  • Information security and risk management (e.g., disaster recovery and business continuity management)

• identifying, rationalizing, and road-mapping new business models and capabilities

• leading and/or supporting innovative and strategic thinking that aligns with standards such as NIST 800.53, NIST 800-64, 800-37, etc.

• providing oversight regarding audit, regulatory, and risk management activities across IT functional areas, such as the development and maintenance of regulatory documentation (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance)

• determining how mainstream and emerging technologies can be safely and securely used to advance business strategy

The preferred candidate will have a background in Health and Human Services along with strong leadership, communications, and information technology skills.

Completion of undergraduate core program coursework in information technology, electrical engineering or telecommunications; 5 yrs. exp. in information systems analysis, design & operations; 18 mos. exp. in project/program management; 2 courses or 6 mos. exp. in budgeting.

• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Supplemental Information:

Subject to On-Call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Required to carry a celluar phone as assigned. Required to work overtime as assigned.

This position is overtime exempt.

This position is unclassified per 124.11 (A) (9), Ohio Revised Code.

Travel required, including in and out of state with overnight stays. Must provide own transportation. Or, in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.
