The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest Labor Relations Officer in the Human Resources Division, working at our central office in downtown Columbus.

As a Labor Relations Officer, you will be planning and coordinating labor relations activities for the agency, as well as serving as the primary contact for labor relations matters, including negotiations, grievances, and arbitration proceedings. You’ll investigate proposed discipline complaints and grievances, following up with recommended resolutions, while representing Ohio EPA in employee evaluations and hearings.
Additionally, you’ll prepare and deliver training to management personnel and provide support to managers and supervisors on labor relations issues. You’ll cultivate positive relationships with union representatives, employees, managers, and agency leaders to foster a collaborative and productive work environment. This also means communicating effectively with all levels of the agency to disseminate information, solicit feedback, and address concerns related to labor relations and human capital management.
You’ll analyze workforce data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in human capital management practices, helping you serve as human resource coordinator and formulate agency-wide programs and policies. You’ll serve on agency committees, as well as respond to inquiries from both employees and the public, as needed. Lastly, you’ll perform general Human Resource duties including employment, training, OAKS, unemployment, and recruitment.
