What You’ll Do
This position works within the labor relations team and to ensure compliance with bargaining contracts across the agency.
- Administer bargaining union contracts
- Implement new policy and procedures

- Evaluate labor issues, weigh risks, determine path forward
- Hold pre-disciplinary meetings and recommend discipline

Schedule: 8-5 state hours. This is currently a hybrid position, allowing some remote work. Daily schedule, upon mutual agreement/operational need, can be altered to 8 hours w/half hour lunch during state hours.

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:
OPTION 1:
- 24 mos. exp. as Labor Relations Officer 1, 63471.
Option 2:
- 12 mos. exp. as Labor Relations Officer 2, 63472.
Option 3:
- 3 yrs. exp. in collective bargaining, which included contract administration & management representation with regard to grievances &/or negotiated agreements (successful completion of the OCB Academy may be substituted for 6 mos. of required collective bargaining experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications; applicants who completed OCB Academy prior to 1/1/2018 may substitute 12 mos. exp.).
Option 4:
Completion of undergraduate core program in human resources management; 12 mos. labor relations/collective bargaining experience which included contract administration & management representation with regard to grievances &/or negotiated agreements (successful completion of the OCB Academy may be substituted for the 6 mos. labor relations/collective bargaining experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications; applicants who completed OCB Academy prior to 1/1/2018 may substitute 12 mos. exp.).- Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 14. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $37.53 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.

Telework Policy
ODJFS may require occasional in-person meetings for training or other operational needs. You will have access to ODJFS shared workspaces, if needed. Employees are required to sign a teleworking agreement upon their first day. Schedules are subject to change based on the agency’s operational needs and telework status. Telework is considered a privilege and agreements are reviewed annually.
