Lead of nuclear response activities for the Catawba Nuclear Station. Conducts offsite radiological emergency preparedness (REP) planning, training, and exercise operations. Develops and maintains state operational radiological response plans. Coordinates and assists local government organizations with the development and maintenance of radiological response plans. Assesses status of training in assigned area and advises and assists local officials with identified training needs. Monitors local governments’ emergency preparedness training and compliance with state and federal laws, regulations and standards. Assists and participates in the development, execution, and evaluation of REP exercises at the state and county levels. Responds to multi-hazard emergencies; performs assorted division duties in support of counties or the emergency operations center.A bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in administrative or technical planning. One year of project management or related experience. Must be computer literate.South Carolina Certified Emergency Manager certification preferred or will seek to acquire within three years.Should have the ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner, both orally and in writing. Should be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with associations, local and state government personnel and private utility personnel. Experience conducting training for small or large groups and ability to develop operations-based exercises. Employee may incur overnight travel during participation in conferences, workshops, and training sessions or when assigned to an affected area during or after an emergency or disaster. Employee may be asked to assist with the setup or breakdown of meeting rooms in conjunction with exercises and briefings.
