Join our dynamic Financial Aid and Veterans Assistance department and our supportive work environment that fosters personal and professional growth. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented candidate to fill the role of Financial Aid Officer.  
 
Under the limited supervision of the Assistant Director of Awarding and Customer Service, the Financial Aid Officer is responsible for various tasks related to federal verification requirements and the oversight of specific financial aid programs and/or service areas; ensures timely and compliant processing and reporting of all aspects of financial aid programs and/or service areas; maintains files in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines; assists with audits, surveys, and program reviews as needed; provides research assistance on financial aid regulations; and makes recommendations for policy and compliance.
 
 This position requires a bachelor’s degree and financial aid experience. Equivalencies may be considered. Preferred candidate will have a bachelor's degree plus one (1) year related financial aid experience. Preferred candidates will have knowledge and skills in automated processing, data management systems, and process efficiency. Knowledge of financial aid regulations, procedures, and eligibility requirements is essential. Candidate must be able to read, comprehend, and comply with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the administration of student financial aid, interact effectively as a team member, and work collaboratively with other departments. The successful candidate will work effectively with various constituencies in a diverse community. Must be self-motivated, have exceptional organizational and time management skills, and manage multiple priorities while exercising sound judgment and discretion. Possess excellent customer service, public speaking, and oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office applications and social media marketing is highly desired. The ability to speak conversational Spanish is a plus.Additional Comments: Applicants MUST complete the online SC State Jobs Employment Application.
