Job Posting for Food Service Specialist IV (#013837) Lieber Correctional Institution, Dorechester at State of South Carolina

  • Assist in supervision of all Food Service personnel in the performance of their daily duties.
  • Act as correctional officer by maintaining internal security of cafeteria (discipline of inmate, employees and all other inmates in addition to maintaining security of all food supplies and equipment).
  • Act as correctional officer by ensuring internal institutional security when performing shakedowns, escorting inmates from one location to another, etc.
  • Must be certified as hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) and/or ServSafe manager, or must attain certification within one (1) year of employment
  • Must  successfully complete SCDC basic training uppon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and supervisory experience in quantity and quality cooking.
(Or an approved equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

SCDC Minimum Requirements:
  • A high school diploma;
  • Four (4) years of experience  in quantity and quality cooking;
  • two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
