What are the responsibilities and job description for the Highway Maintenance Worker IV - Crew Foreman (61033403) position at State of South Carolina?
Serves as crew foreman. Performs routine route and road inspections to determine deficiencies, then prioritizes and schedules work that can be completed and advises Resident Maintenance Engineer if another crew is needed to assist in performing the required work. Supervises the work crews performing the grading of shoulders and slopes and pavement work consisting of overlays and pothole patching. Oversees the laying of crossline pipes in ditches and storm sewers. Supervises the work of crews performing cleaning and construction of ditches to include determining grade. Supervises the removal of curb, gutter and sidewalk for repairs and clearing of right of way for ditch work. Computes the quantity of materials required for maintenance projects and verifies the cost and quantity of materials for maintenance operations. Performs other related work as required by supervisor.Four (4) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required upon entry to the position.
