This vacancy falls under the Construction and Facilities Management Office, Operation and Maintenance Branch, within the South Dakota Army National Guard/South Dakota Department of the Military. This position is the lead maintenance worker for Camp Rapid and will be engaged in all forms of facility maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, grounds maintenance, remodeling, preventative maintenance, snow removal, and a wide variety of other maintenance related tasks.
This position is a hands-on leadership role within the maintenance field and will require significant experience with all areas of facilities maintenance, teaching/training/assisting other maintenance personnel, interacting with customers, scheduling maintenance projects, completing reports and records, working with contractors and vendors, and ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.
Work Schedule: Tuesday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (10-hour days); work schedule may vary due to emergency situations or snow removal operations. The individual selected will undergo a National Security Check to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) for access to the federal computer system.
Incumbent must live in or be willing to relocate within 10-15 minutes commuting time of the above location and must be available for work on short notice during emergencies and adverse weather conditions.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
