The Division of Adult Probation & Parole is looking for a Office Specialist II to serve as clerical support in our Region 5 Hurricane Office.
Job Description
As an Office Specialist, you may open and close offender cases and track cases through the sentencing / referral process, check-in offenders.
This position enters data in the Department offender database (O-track) and uses other agency databases to document offender progress, open cases, assist probation and parole offenders with reporting information and questions, and coordinate information with the courts and jails.
Principle Duties
You may also perform a variety of clerical support services such as :
- Answer frequent phone calls.
- Face-to-face interaction with the public, probationers, and parolees.
- Provide authorized agencies with information.
- Run a variety of reports.
- Run rap sheets.
- Coordinate information and assist agents and supervisors in clerical aspects of their caseload supervision.
- Prepare probation and parole documents.
- Generate probation and parole agreements.
- Verify conditions of probation and parole.
- Open, maintain, and update investigation files and other records.
- Track court proceedings.
- Send reports to courts / attorneys.
- Data entry.
The Ideal Candidate
The best qualified individual for the Office Specialist II position is someone who :
- Has at least 1 year experience working in a professional office environment.
- Has extensive working knowledge of MS Word / Excel and Google suite.
- Is detail-oriented.
- Works independently with little or no supervision.
- Has experience scanning and uploading documents into a database.
Preference
Preference may be given to those who :
Have working experience in a court, law enforcement, or corrections environment.

- The hourly rate for this position is $19.41 (non-negotiable).
- Current UDC employees' hourly rate will be based off the promotional policy.
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc.
Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
- This position has hours that may include a schedule of 0800-1700 hours Monday through Friday. The hours are subject to change.
