Overview

Are you customer service oriented and have a knack for helping people with technology related issues? If so, the Vermont Agency of Digital Services, Shared Services, Service Desk team has an opportunity for you to start your IT career. The Service Desk is a dynamic team looking for an individual who can work well in a team environment involving considerable interaction with customers and department staff. This position will be the first level of support and triage for multiple state agencies and departments.

The ideal candidate will have good customer service skills, be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a team. The ability to evolve and change quickly within the state's IT environment is as essential as working with time sensitive and sometimes confidential material. Working knowledge of computer applications, hardware and software, and telecommunications platforms, along with attention to detail is a must. This candidate should also have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to work with peers, users, and management in a reasonable and professional manner.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a computer environment involving considerable interaction with customers and department staff. Some overtime work may be necessary during staff shortages or emergencies. Some travel to customer locations may be involved, for which private means of transportation is required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
