The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) Project Management Office, is seeking a confident, knowledgeable, and experienced Project Manager. In this role, you will independently lead, plan, monitor, and/or coordinate all aspects of assigned projects of varying depths or initiatives, communicate, coordinate, and influence all those involved to achieve the project objectives on time and to the specified scope, cost, performance, and quality. You will incorporate project management, change management, lean techniques, and other quality improvement methods into project activities and provide a consultative role to DDA statewide. You will lead diverse project teams, and provide expert guidance, advice, and consultation to DDA leadership. You will interact with staff and leaders from various business units.

Some of what you’ll do

Work with DDA leadership and programs in identifying, designing, and developing strategic projects and priorities, including performance improvement activities, change management methodologies, and metrics.

Provide expertise and technical assistance to define project objectives, create schedules, and oversee quality improvement projects statewide.

Identify, assess, and minimize project risks until successful project completion.

Work with DDA employees, as customers, to develop project scope of work documents and project plans.

Use project management skills to manage project roles, identify resource requirements, meet training needs, define project deliverables, provide customer satisfaction on reporting structures, and ensure the quality of projects.

Provide leadership and expertise in the management and implementation of appropriate lean tools.

Collaborate with leadership at every level of the DDA administration to develop, gather, and analyze meaningful performance metrics to demonstrate the value and results of process improvement efforts.

Participate in statewide work groups as assigned, involving planning and system development.
We are looking for a creative, flexible, and collaborative individual who has experience leading, managing, coaching, mentoring, planning, and executing multiple projects, with an understanding of project management best practices, managing programs, projects, and people, changing priorities, task, and deadlines simultaneously. They understand project management methodology and have experience with related tools.
This person must have the innate ability to establish and build partnerships, trust, make decisions, and recommendations, and be a savvy relationship builder with stellar communication and facilitation skills. They can tolerate stress, adapt to changing business needs, and accept responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work to meet or exceed predetermined goals and objectives.

Who should apply?

A bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, public administration, public health, health administration, or related field AND a minimum of 3 years of professional work experience that involved managing projects, process improvement activities, and/or conducting research and data analysis.

Additionally, work experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.

Knowledge of working and applied skills and knowledge of project management processes or phases, including project initiation, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling and closing projects.

Experience using MS Office tools, Smartsheet, a

nd Miro is preferred.

Strong project management analytic skills.
Preferred/ desired education, experience, and competencies:

A master’s degree in one of the fields listed above is preferred.

Certification in project management

Certification in an accredited Lean training program.
