This role enables human resources (HR) professionals the opportunity to exercise their broad-based professional HR experience while offering a training pathway to build upon HR fundamentals in State Service. Apply early, as we have only one (1) opening!
Please note: Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the option for a flexible work schedule.
This position provides the candidate with the opportunity to:
Option 1: Be hired as a Human Resource Consultant 1 (HRC1)* with an in-training plan intended to promote to Human Resource Consultant 2 after six (6) months, contingent on mastering all core competencies at the HRC1 job class.
OR
Option 2: Be hired in as a Human Resource Consultant 2 (HRC2) for candidates who meet all qualification requirements.
Salary Ranges Applicable to this Recruitment
HRC1: *If hired as an HRC1, the salary range is $3,974 - $5,214 monthly for the first six (6) months. Incumbent will progress to the HRC2 salary range upon successful completion of all core competencies in the required timeframe.
HRC2: **If hired as an HRC2, the salary range is $4,602 - $6,046 monthly.
- This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.

These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to honorably discharged Veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star Families.
As the HRC2 for WDVA's Central Office, you will provide first-level professional HR consultation and advice while ensuring consistent practices in all HR offices across all WDVA facilities. Our ideal candidate has a natural ability to establish trust and credibility with customers, coworkers, leaders, and other key stakeholders to ensure success in this role.
