Communications Consultant 4: Project

Olympia, WA Remote Full Time
POSTED ON 5/13/2024
JOB
This is a Project position expected to end in February 2026. Our ideal candidate for the Communications Consultant 4-Project position is a bridge-builder, someone who can seamlessly connect different stakeholders and groups. You take pride in your ability to quickly establish trust, acting as the cohesive “glue” that unites a team. You enjoy engaging with the public and stakeholders, skillfully navigating complex organizational structures. You have a strategic approach to planning and managing your work, always keeping the big picture in mind. You are committed and detail-oriented, following through on your commitments down to the last detail. Your writing skills allow you to translate complex information into clear, well-written messages. You look forward to facilitating meetings, planning, and attending events. You thrive on collaboration but are also capable of working independently. You practice leadership through influence, rather than authority, and you aren’t above the nitty-gritty or beneath making decisions. We have a unique — and mostly virtual — opportunity for a strategic communications professional to develop and lead communications campaigns in support of the WorkSource Integrated Technology (WIT) Replacement project. The WIT team will rely on you for strategic communications planning and support, including content creation and executing on deliverables. You’ll also engage members of the team as contributors and messengers, coaching them on best practices. Similar to a project manager, you’ll lead through influence and apply your expertise when advising other workstreams. You’ll work virtually but will need to travel occasionally for site visits throughout the state. If you enjoy stakeholder engagement, you’ll have an opportunity to apply and hone your skills as you provide communications support for the complex WorkSource system. ESD’s communications team is dedicated to building and maintaining trust with customers, partners and leaders. From our bird’s-eye view, we offer big picture insights and context to improve ESD’s programs. When you join us, you’ll serve alongside a team of strategic thinkers, planners, and skilled creative technicians with deep expertise in communications and public relations. We work closely to develop communications plans and then create the written, design, web and multi-media deliverables to support our customers, staff and agency priorities. The WIT Replacement project is a multi-phased statewide technology project with big local impact. The project will replace technology systems that are critical for connecting job seekers with employers, while also meeting federal and state reporting requirements. -

Support facilitation and collaboration for the project’s communications advisory team. Manage and update web content for the project on internal and external websites. Support development of program-specific writing style guides and use those to draft and revise improved web content. Manage and produce email templates, subscriptions and messages in our mass email platform, GovDelivery. To request a detailed position description, click here.
