This is a project position, with anticipated end date of 12/31/2025, extension of this project will depend on continued funding.

In the heart of our veteran services, a dedicated Consolidated Veteran Services Representative (CVSR) is ready to transform lives with empathy and strategic insight. This role guides Veterans through the complexities of employment and training with a compassionate touch.  Our candidate will be adept in case management and attuned to the evolving labor market, crafting personalized support pathways for our Nations heroes.  

They will be a bridge between Veterans and the civilian workforce, a skilled advocate who forges partnerships that open doors to meaningful careers. Their communication will resonate with clarity and purpose, fostering connections that empower and address the transitions to work and support the needs of the individual who may have specialized requirements to find the right job. With a problem-solving mindset, they will navigate challenges with innovation, inspiring trust and cultivating a culture of respect and continuous learning.

Some of your duties may include:

  • Comprehensive Services: Provide employment and training services for Veterans, facilitate training that would enhance the Veterans ability to find employment, and manage job referrals.
  • Case Management: Provide intensive services to Veterans with employment barriers, develop individual plans, and follow up on client progress.
  • Assess Skills: Administer assessments, analyze veteran capabilities, and recommend courses of action.
  • Engage in Performance standards:  Provide on-going reports, enrollments of Veterans, complete documentation in our statewide case Management system and highlight the successes of the Veterans you serve.
  • Develop Relationships: Collaborate with WorkSource partners, attend community meetings, and coordinate resources to promote veteran employment.
  • Develop Resources:  Connect with other Veterans and community agencies that provide support services for housing, clothing, training and transportation. 
  • Maintain Partnerships: Promote relationships with local agencies, coordinate with educational institutions, and outreach to service providers.
  • Manage Work-Study Program: Interview candidates, assign work, mentor the candidates, and monitor performance of work-study participants.
  • Outreach Activities: Identify Veterans with employment needs, utilize unemployment compensation data for outreach, and participate in veteran-focused events.  Also work with employers to offer a skilled labor force with a variety of military experiences that will translate to the civilian labor force, with their leadership skills and strong work ethic.

  • One (1) year experience as a WorkSource Specialist 5 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department, or another state’s Employment Security agency

 

OR

 

  • Two (2) years of experience as a WorkSource Specialist 4 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department, or another state’s Employment Security agency AND one (1) year experience as a designated lead worker

 

OR

 

  • A Bachelor's degree AND five (5) years of relevant experience in workforce development, social or human resource services, public relations, or public contact work, such as: unemployment insurance, social services, human resource services, education, public relations, benefits programs, insurance claims, law enforcement and banking OR a combination of education and/or relevant experience, which includes one year experience as a designated lead worker.

 

OR 

 

  • A combination of education and/or relevant experience totaling nine (9) years. 


A Master's degree or above will substitute for one (1) year of required experience.



Desirable/Preferred Education, Experience or Certifications:

  • Selective preference will be accorded to Veterans with first priority given to qualified service-connected disabled Veterans, second to qualified eligible Veterans, and third given to qualified eligible persons as defined by Title 38, USC, Section 4101(5). 

 

Additional Requirement of Employment:

  • Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
