We're looking for Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor Assistants to join our team to provide comprehensive services to juvenile youth, working toward the common goal of eliminating child and youth outcome disparities based on race and ethnicity. The Opportunity (various job types):
You can make a real difference in the lives of at-risk youth when you join our dedicated team at Green Hill School. We need your motivation and engagement to assist our counselors in providing comprehensive case management, transition and reentry planning, counseling and treatment services for an assigned caseload of youth and their families. You will supervise youth for compliance with program and treatment plan requirements.
We are hiring for various job types, including permanent and temporary.
Some of what you'll do:
- Assist residential counselors to assess behavior and monitor youth compliance with case plan and program requirements
- Support and monitor youth participation in appropriate treatment services
- Co-facilitate Dialectical Behavior Therapy & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy groups;
- Perform routine security duties, including verbal de-escalation and physical restraining of non-compliant youth
- Conduct headcounts, living unit building security checks, key checks room searches for contraband, pat and/or strip searches of youth, assist in search and apprehension of escapees
- Assign and supervise youth chores within a living unit to meet health and hygiene standards
- Supervise or serve meals to resident groups; monitor movement of residents to and from central areas such as school, medical, and recreation facilities
- Organize and supervise group recreational activities

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:
- Demonstrated understanding of adolescent development and juvenile rehabilitation practices and principles; experience providing cognitive/behavioral therapeutic interventions.
- Demonstrated competency in relating to clients from diverse backgrounds and cultural groups.
- Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences related to juvenile delinquency.
