As a journey-level professional, you will independently execute a variety of fiscal duties, adhering closely to state regulations, agency policies, and accounts receivable procedures. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed financial analyses, resolving receivable discrepancies, and maintaining the precision of billing and transaction records. By following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and State regulations, you'll contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of government operations. Reporting to the DES Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you'll collaborate with colleagues across various departments, agencies, and external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment aimed at delivering accurate financial reports and data. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Some of what you will enjoy doing: Process accounts receivable transactions promptly, including invoice preparation, data review, and monthly invoice completion for multiple DES divisions.Ensure accuracy and compliance of revenue transactions with state financial requirements, agency policies, and contract terms.Conduct thorough analysis of monthly revenues, GLs, and related financial accounts, making necessary journal voucher entries.Review accounts, authorize credits/refunds, and recommend procedures to enhance fiscal operations.Utilize statewide systems such as AFRS, ER, Webi, TM$, EVF, ABS, and Computron for analysis and reporting.Maintain and update recurring invoices for the Central Service Model billings. Performs report analysis and system research to determine proper recording and accounting period for all receivables, revenue, expenditure recoveries, and adjustments processed. Examining subsidiary and control accounts for accuracy.Conducts research for budget and internal/external customers. Provides billing reports to customers. Adds customer locations in ABS. Verifies and adjusts for deferred revenue and general ledgers as appropriate. Accrue revenues and receivables monthly/yearly. Prepare fiscal year and biennial closing entries.Research, co-ordinate and implement collections procedure.
