Reporting to the E- Commerce and Business Systems Manager, this position is considered the highest level of authority regarding GIS and Imaging services. It also supervises a team of professionals responsible for related system services provided to internal and external customers.
In addition to the above, the GIS and Imaging Supervisor can expect these duties:
- Ensuring information systems utilized by the GIS and Imaging business staff, and their external customers, are maintained and available to meet their business needs.
- Developing and managing the successful implementation of assigned application projects and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Coordinating resources; develop project artifacts such as project management plan, charter, schedule, communications plan, risk log, and resource plan when required.
- Ensuring best practices for project management and software development are followed.
- Facilitating status meetings, communications, testing, issue resolution and production implementation with customers.
- Working with all stakeholders to create technology solutions to mission critical business problems related to the systems the GIS and Imaging teams.
- Providing professional development to the members of the GIS and Imaging teams through coaching, mentoring and training.
- Ensuring staff have work assignments and provide clear expectations.
- Addressing performance issues in a timely manner, ensuring all required documentation is completed.
- Completing annual/trial service/probationary evaluations and expectations that provide value to the employee and are in support of their career objectives.
- Performing recruitment activities to fill vacant positions. Reviewing applicants' credentials, conduct interviews, and provide hiring recommendation to manager for approval.
Required Qualifications:A bachelor's degree including 9 semester or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses
AND five years' experience with progressing responsibility managing IT system development projects using industry standard project management methodologies and practices; and/or supervising IT development staff with responsibility for production systems; and/or IT system administration of production systems. This experience must also include consultative experience in information technology system analysis and troubleshooting/problem resolution
Note - One year of qualifying experience will substitute for two years of education. Desired Qualifications: - Development and/or system administration experience with GIS or Imaging systems.
- Project Management Certification or Education.
- Cloud application development and/or cloud system management experience.
