Job Title: IT Data Management (Journey) Reports Designer/Developer – Child Welfare and Early Learning
Location: Thurston County – Olympia, Washington, this position is Hybrid/Work from home, with occasional in-person meeting attendance.

Salary: $6,939.00 - $9,332.00 Monthly

This position contributes to DCYF’s mission by performing the duties of Reports Designer/Developer, as a member of the Office of Innovation, Alignment, and Accountability (OIAA).
The Opportunity:This role develops report applications and databases, particularly focused on Child Welfare and Early Learning data. It involves designing, documenting, modifying, testing, installing, and maintaining software applications, ensuring they meet business needs. The position also involves translating business requirements into technical specifications and supporting both Child Welfare and Early Learning Programs through the design, development, and implementation of reports that incorporate early learning and child welfare data.
Some of what you will get to do:- Document functional and technical report designs.
- Use version control software to maintain source code repositories.
- Design Extract Transform and Load (ETL) transformation logic specific to reporting needs.
- Tests ETL specific to transformations designed.
- Design report layout(s), define parameters that allow users to build their own custom report, and develop data reporting systems.
- Analyze and define data requirements and specifications to design, normalize, develop, and implement multi-user reporting databases.
- Plan, develop, implement, test, and maintain data structures using Transact SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, and/or Visual Studio.
- Implement data systems, continuously analyze, monitor, and address data quality issues in reporting solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain data reporting systems and business intelligence solutions for Child Welfare and Early Learning data.
- Work closely with the Child Welfare and Early Learning-focused staff across OIAA and the Product Team.
Required Qualifications:- Four (4) years of IT experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, coding and/or maintaining software applications and/or databases, and providing technical support in Information Technology.
- Three (3) years’ experience developing reports using a Business Intelligence reporting tool.
Additional Required Qualifications:- Three (3) years of recent experience working with relational databases (SQL server preferable).
- Two (2) years of recent experience working with star schema Data Warehouse databases.
- Three (3) years of experience writing T-SQL.
In addition to the requirements above, our ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following:- Knowledge and understanding of the business of Early Learning and Child Welfare.
- Experience with Child Welfare and Early Learning datasets, models, and topics.
- Experience testing complex reports and reporting systems.
