What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reporting & Analytics Platform Administrator position at State of Washington?
Note: This position is allocated as an IT System Administration - Journey.
As a Reporting and Analytics Platform Administrator, you will support reporting platform and technologies that connect critical enterprise statewide applications. You will provide platform administration, maintain reporting software solutions and operational support to the business intelligence and analytics software platforms and financial reporting services during and out of operation hours.
Note: Telecommuting is available, but you must be able to come into the office in Olympia WA if deemed necessary. We will strive to give reasonable notice.

What you’ll do: - Maintain and provide operational support/maintenance for SAP Business Objects business intelligence suite.
- Troubleshoot outages and root?cause analysis, across multiple platforms and coordinate activities across multiple teams to resolve outages.
- Provide technical knowledge for Enterprise?wide reporting platform.
- Support the ongoing installations, upgrades, maintenance, and support of the agency’s enterprise reporting platform solutions.
- Implement changes as necessary to align towards service goals (Service Level Agreements – SLA’s) and direction.
- Maintain Business Objects Platform, identify bugs in code and providing temporary workarounds and permanent solutions. Work with vendors on support issues.
- Diagnose and resolve platform performance issues.
- Coordinate, plan and execute software upgrades in support of OFM Data Management supported Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms.
- Design and develop Business Object Universes (semantic data model) solutions for statewide data systems.
- Coordinate with Server and Network teams to install/deploy, configure and monitor the OFM business intelligence platforms.
- Design sound platform as work performed directly impacts the availability and correctness of the state’s financial accounting, state payroll, general ledger, and enterprise budgeting systems data.
- Provide technical consulting to other teams, divisions, or projects on an ad?hoc basis, using technical knowledge of how the state systems interact, and knowledge of the technical frameworks underpinning them, this role consults to other teams on technical issues regarding Business Intelligence platforms.
- Three years of experience providing server administration support of an enterprise platform.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related area such as mathematics, engineering, data and business intelligence design (Additional related professional experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis).
- Two years’ experience with SAP Business Objects BI platform
- Supporting a large enterprise platform with on? call support of technical infrastructure trouble shooting at a technical advanced level.
- Supporting large enterprise scale business intelligence platform, analytical and reporting solutions.
