The position's primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting background investigations for prospective retailers, vendors, contractors, and potential Lottery employees.
- Serving as the back-up to the Licensing Specialist
- Monitoring the Lottery’s security system to include issuing swipe card, ID badges, control of keys, and other access material for the headquarters facility.
- In the absence of a Lottery Security Specialist, receiving various related complaints to include reports of lost or stolen lottery tickets.
- Supporting security division staff by organizing, maintaining and archiving divisional records, preparing and submitting the divisional attendance records and tracking expense trends.
- Preparing and processing vouchers for payment of billings, making sure all appropriate documentation is attached, and all necessary information is furnished.
- Proactively counseling retailers regarding methods for secure control of ticket products to prevent future occurrences.
- Preparing monthly narrative and statistical reports on files issued for investigation and dissemination, and those cases completed and/or terminated.
- Providing support in recording verbatim suspect and witness interviews.
- High school graduation or equivalent
AND - Four years of progressively responsible experience in office, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.
The ideal candidate will also have the following competencies:

- Exceptional organizational skills used to balance ever-changing, and often competing, responsibilities, priorities, and deadlines.
- Extraordinary commitment to the highest level of customer service.
- Ability to work well with customers (responds verbally and in writing to their inquiries, remains calm when dealing with upset or angry customers, listens to their concerns/question).
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in the same timeframe, handles interruptions appropriately, and returns to incomplete tasks.
- Ability to use professional phone etiquette while answering telephones, taking messages, and otherwise assisting others over the phone.
- Ability to compose, send and respond to electronic mail. Use email program functions such as calendars and meeting requests.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
- Ability to document and/or update information in written or electronic form to maintain accurate and complete records.
- Ability to absorb new and complex information quickly.
