Some overnight travel is anticipated as well as occasional travel to attend meeting sites, or project sites to assist staff, arrange meetings, training, etc.Who we are: The Pollution Liability Insurance Agency (PLIA) provides an effective and efficient government funding model that helps owners and operators of underground storage tanks (USTs) meet financial responsibility and environmental cleanup requirements. PLIA has a team of dedicated professionals committed to open collaboration, innovative thinking, and delivering high quality service, to ensure success in meeting our mission. What you will be doing: You will perform senior-level work for the Financial Assurance (FA) Program. You will provide technical consultation and assistance to underground storage tank (UST) owners and operators and collect information used by the FA Program in annual fee and deductible determination. You will represent the agency by serving in the four regionally designated areas (Northwest, Southwest, Central, and Eastern Washington) and will deliver efficient, collaborative, and creative solutions to regionally based environmental issues. You will serve as the lead for your designated region and provide recommendations to the FA Program Coordinator.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Some of what you’ll do: Independently completes specialized facility assessments, environmental investigation activities, feasibility studies, and with state regulationsReview application materials for accuracy and completeness and correspond with program applicantsReview technically complex data and cleanup reports and conduct follow-up reviews to evaluate the success of remediation processes and their compliance with state regulationsDraft technical opinion letters for site owners that evaluate the completed or proposed cleanup against the substantive requirements of the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA)
