Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS), Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC) is recruiting to fill a vacancy for the part-time Dentist. This position is a 60% (.6 FTE) position and will work approximately 24 hours per week. Leave time is prorated based on FTE and number of hours worked.

Position Summary
The Dentist is responsible for establishing and administering effective clinical dental services to WRC clients to include general dentistry and emergency care for WRC clients. This position will work in close cooperation with all disciplines in the Health Services Department regarding evaluation and treatment planning for patients with multiple general dental, medical and psychiatric problems.
Salary Information
Starting pay for this position is $76.00-$91.92 per hour, plus excellent benefits. This position is classified as Dentist and is in pay schedule/range 10/51. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current of former employees is based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction.
Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by WRC or medical personnel approved by the facility within 30 days of the start date.
All state employees are required to report their COVID vaccination status, whether they are vaccinated or not, and must provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information within their first two weeks of employment.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified candidates will have:
- Licensure or eligible for licensure to practice dentistry in the State of Wisconsin. Candidates must obtain licensure by time of appointment.
- Possess DEA Registration or be eligible to obtain DEA Registration. Candidates must obtain registration by time of appointment. Note: Registration fee may be waved for individuals required to obtain in order to carry out duties in a state or federal agency.
- Experience performing basic dental examinations and applying general dental therapeutics.
- Excellent communication skills.
Well-qualified candidates will have:
- Experience working effectively with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience working with inmates or developmentally or cognitively disabled individuals in a secure setting.
- Experience providing accurate, efficient and timely medical records documentation including using an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
