The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF), Division of Milwaukee Child Protective Services (DMCPS) is currently recruiting to fill an Operations Services Section Manager position in Milwaukee, WI. DMCPS works with families to ensure the safety and well-being of children. With its many community partners, DMCPS provides services to families in crisis that help keep children safely in the home. When it is necessary, DMCPS looks to foster and adoptive families to provide appropriate temporary and permanent homes for children who cannot live with their parents.
This position is headquartered at our DMCPS Office (635 N 26th St, Milwaukee, WI 53233) and will have the option of working remotely for up to 3 days per week. This schedule may change based on training or operational needs. Employees will be required to report to DMCPS Office on their first day of employment. High speed internet access is required to meet the needs of remote work.

Position Summary
This position reports to the Director of the Quality Operations Bureau (QOB), Division of Milwaukee Child Protective Services (DMCPS) with primary responsibility for managing and coordinating its administrative and office operations including records and files, administrative staff support and office reception. This position also serves as the lead contract administrator for DMCPS and as the DMCPS Open Government regulatory officer.
The Division of Milwaukee Child Protective Services has approximately 195 state FTE positions and approximately 600 private agency contracted staff. The Operations Services Section Manager is responsible for managing the Bureau’s operations across all administrative, operational and contractual programs. The incumbent serves as the manager responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations related to the administration of services for the Division. This position is also responsible for overseeing the components of operational support for records and files management and administrative office support. This position assists the Bureau Director regarding budget and fiscal matters that impact contract, operational and administrative concerns.

Salary Information
The salary is between $36.00-$42.00 per hour ($74,880 - $87,360 annually), depending on qualifications. Pay for current State of WI employees will be based on the compensation plan in effect at the time of the appointment. The pay schedule/range is 81-02. A two-year career executive trial period may be required.
Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, final candidates may be required to allow DCF to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charges or convictions would be substantially related to the job being filled.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have:
- Experience managing and supervising employees (reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating work, assigning work, directing, guiding, and supporting staff, oversight, and accountability, hiring, training and disciplinary processes, etc.)
- Experience monitoring contracts or interagency agreements
- Experience analyzing and/or auditing financial data
- Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
Well-qualified applicants will have:
- Experience supervising and managing leaders/supervisory staff (holding staff accountable, encouraging voice, ownership, and independence, performance management, providing support and oversight, etc.)
- Experience working in an office role with regulatory obligations in the public sector (municipal, county, state, federal, university, etc.)
- Experience implementing office operations policy(-ies) (fleet, records, safety programs, space allocation)
- Experience making formal recommendations for budget consideration
- Project management experience that leads to enhancing operational processes
