Veterinary Assistant

Job Overview
Here at State Road Animal Hospital, we are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess a strong desire to assist in providing high-quality veterinary services.

Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures

- Perform animal care tasks such as feeding, grooming, and exercising

- Administer medications and treatments under the supervision of a veterinarian

- Handle animals with care and ensure their comfort and safety

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary facility

- Assist in laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing

- Utilize aseptic techniques when necessary

- Support in animal phlebotomy procedures

-Review discharges, estimates and other medical records with clients

-Answer phones in a courteous manner

-Maintain excellent client communication

Qualifications
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures

- Proficiency of skills such as laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 36 per week
