Job Description

We are looking for a Regulatory and Public Affairs Intern for Statkraft’s business in Italy. Immerse in an international and dynamic environment, in this role you will work together with the Regulatory and Public Affairs Manager playing a key part for developing our business in the Country.

Statkraft’s business activities in Italy are diverse and fast-growing and include the development of wind, solar and storage assets as well as growing PPA business. As the first producer of renewable power in Europe, we aim to be a key partner of the energy transition in Italy. As our business and significance in Italy grows, so should our influence and reputation as well as our capacity to anticipate and to adapt to regulatory changes. We see public and regulatory affairs as a critical component of our successful growth.

As part of your role you will:

• Preparing briefings and background notes ahead of institutional meetings.

• Supporting the business development with political and regulatory analysis, including at regional and local level.

• Participating to the working groups and activities of trade associations, providing inputs during meetings and reporting back.

• Contributing to develop stakeholders’ engagement strategies both at national and local level.

• Monitoring legislative and regulatory updates, while assessing risks and opportunities.

• Attending events and seminars related to energy issues or whether there’s a political interest to be there.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree, preferably in Political Science, International Relations, Social Science or equivalent.

• Strong understanding of the Italian legislative-making process and institutional dynamics, notably on energy issues.

• Strong analytical skills, e.g. ability to analyse legislative texts, detecting risks and opportunities; capacity to understand trends and dynamic and to elaborate strategies.

• Strong interpersonal skills, e.g. ability to work in team and to interact with a wide range of business areas and colleagues; ability to speak in front of an audience and to adapt the communication style according to the context and the interlocutor.

• Strong drafting skills, e.g. ability to draft briefings, policy notes and position papers.

• Understanding of energy policies, energy market and renewables.

• Knowledge on national and European legislation is an asset.

• Eagerness to learn and to develop professional skills.

• Availability to travel.

• Fluent Italian and English.

Additional Information

  • Location: Milan office - Via Caradosso 9 20123 Milano
  • Six-months full-time internship with monthly allowance and meal tickets
  • Smart working policy: 3 days in the office, 2 working from home, on a weekly basis.
