Description
The Coordinator of Independent Living Services oversees the development, implementation, and administration of independent living services through designated contracts which enable persons with disabilities to gain as greater control as possible in the least restrictive environment.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate the independent living staff's performance.
- Oversees the operations, effectiveness and quality of Information & Referral Services by providing guidance, training and support to staff
- Ensure all consumers Independent living Plan's (ILP's) are up-to-date, including status of identified goals, contact information and accurate and timely documentation into the Web-based Independent Living Database (WILD)
- Participates in training programs that would facilitate a better knowledge of independent living philosophy as well as local, state-wide, and national advocacy efforts.
- Review reports produced by WILD in order to evaluate contractual obligations, staff performance, and overall consumer ILP
- Ensure the analysis and completion of annual Consumer Satisfaction Survey's as required by the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) and the Statewide Independent Living Commission (SILC)
- Assist the Director of Services to develop programs responding to the needs of people with disabilities

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate knowledge in the following:
- Human Services management
- Interpersonal relations
- Staff supervision
- Advocacy
- Counseling methods
- Community organizing
- Must be able to work well with diverse groups and individuals and demonstrate knowledge and commitment to all consumers to be able to live in the lease restrictive environment as possible with appropriate long-term community support services.
- Oversee all aspects of establishing, maintaining, and supervising staff related to independent living to ensure consumers are living independently in the least restrictive environment with the appropriate long-term care services.
- Respond to consumer complaints regarding Independent Living services and staff
- Supervise the management, implementation, and appropriateness of consumers ILP's
- Assist with the development and implementation of long-range organizational goals in order to improve the lives of people with disabilities
- Routinely review Information & Referral performance in order to expedite appropriate community services for consumers to enable the consumer to live as independently as possible
- Assist with Stavros outreach, education, and systems advocacy
