Work Days and Expected Hours:

Monday - Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

(Additional hours as necessary to complete the objectives of the department)

Function:  Responsible for supervision and management of Consumer Banking leaders within a specific region through effective coaching and guidance to achieve established goals. Based on market needs, this role may be responsible for managing employees from a different department within line of business.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1.        Assists the Manager to ensure profitable growth, superior service, and the efficient and effective operation of the area branches by performing the following functions:

a.        Develops a strong Sales & Service culture throughout the region with the review and inspection of Customer Insight surveys and adherence to the Services standards outlined in the Branch Playbook.

b.        Ensuring all regional team members are trained and proficient in their respective roles.

c.        Uses personal and professional skills to solve problems, clear roadblocks to success, provide direction and clarification, act as information source, and communicate expectations and standards, and provide feedback on performance.

d.        Reviews and recommends improved operating policies and ensures the proper implementation of approved changes.

e.        Assists with resolution of operational and customer problems.

f.         Conducts monthly managers' meetings, weekly manager conference calls, etc.

g.        Coaches Consumer Banking leaders to achieve pre-determined branch sales goals.

h.        Participates in a rotation schedule to attend new hire training and welcome new colleagues to the branch family.

i.          Promotes teamwork and lateral service within branches.

j.          Approves capital expenditures.

k.        Assists with the recovery and prevention of fraud/loss.

 

2.        Communicates with Consumer Banking personnel to provide training and to review bank policies, product knowledge, and customer service responsibilities.  Ensures that region personnel meet standards of professionalism.

 

3.        Performs certain "first-line" Human Resource functions:

a.        Delegates appropriate duties and responsibilities to subordinates.  Instructs employees in time management techniques to help them complete their duties in an efficient manner.

b.        Coordinates with Consumer Sales & Services Management and Human Resources on staffing needs, including active recruiting.  Ensures staff development and handles succession planning and other personnel issues as needed.

c.        Completes employee performance reviews and conducts interviews with employees to discuss performance, goals, and objectives.

d.        Makes recommendations for personnel regarding employment, performance ratings, salary changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations - including personnel development and career planning.

 

4.        Calls on existing and prospective bank customers in order to enhance relationships, develop new business, and increase bank market share.

 

5.        Establishes a leadership role in civic and community functions to enhance image and develop business.

 

6.        Interacts with other bank officers to further expand existing customer relationships and develop new contacts.

 

7.        Maintains prescribed security controls to protect the bank against criminal and fraudulent operations and unnecessary risk or exposure.

 

8.        Ensures that facilities are in good operational repair and recommends capital improvements.

 

9.        Keeps informed of current developments, trends, and federal and state regulations as they relate to operations.

 

10.     Required S.A.F.E. Act certification.  Proof of registration with the registry and verification of a unique identifier as established under the guidelines of the S.A.F.E. Act is required upon hire and/or must be obtained prior to performing the duties of a Mortgage Loan Originator, as defined by the Act.  This registration must be maintained annually in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act. 

 

11.     Maintains all required regulatory and compliance certifications in line with all supported lines of business.

 

12.     Maintains a good working relationship with all bank employees.  Demonstrates the ability to work independently.  Works as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn the organization.

 

13.     Assumes additional duties as required.

 

Physical Demands

 

Operates a keypad device:  40% of the day; operates office equipment:  10% of the day; Travels: 50% of the day.  Sitting is required 30% of the day; walking is required 20% of the day. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. Requires travel for Business Development and training up to 50% of the time. Use of manual dexterity skills for typing and data entry up to 40% of the business day.  Specific vision requirements include close vision of 18”- 20” for computer work and travel 40% of the business day.
