DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY
Oversee and manage overall design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of research and development operations to maximize efficiency, productivity, quality, and minimize cost while providing safe, innovative, creative, properly documented, and artistic products at specified deadlines
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Collaborate with Senior Design Engineers to encourage and inspire new product developments
- Oversee Design Engineering activities for all Design requirements and processes and balance or adjust resources to maintain departmental objectives
- Provide key performance indicators for all Design Engineering functions and ensure key performance indicators are prioritized and objectively maintained
- Serve as primary contact for all departments for Research and Development needs
- Staff management including documenting and communicating objectives, positively impacting employee morale, motivating team members, conducting performance appraisals, and appropriately addressing individual or group performance issues
- Develop goals and objectives, and measure outcomes to ensure goals are met
- Develop a "Strong 2nd" for your area of responsibility
- Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
- Stealth retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Must have the ability to:
- Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
- Guide, direct, and motivate staff
Must have:
- Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of engineering management experience with exposure to design, manufacturing, quality processes and mechanical system design and development
- 3 years of experience managing at least 5 staff members
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of experience with Bills of Material (BOMs) and/or Change Control processes
- 5 years of experience managing at least 5 staff members
- Current or previous successful employment experience with Stealth Products (directly, independently or through a third party)
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design or other technical discipline OR Associate’s Degree with at least 6 years of design or technical experience OR High School Diploma or GED with at least 12 years of design or technical experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
