JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Plant Accountant Reports to: Plant Controller
JOB SUMMARY:
As a key member of the finance team, the Plant Accountant is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and relevant financial information to key business leaders in support of the company's strategy and objectives. Reporting to the plant Accounting Manager, the Plant Accountant will assist in analyzing the performance of the plant against established metrics, preparing plant budgets and forecasts, and performing the monthly financial close.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Support effective inventory management in partnership with plant operations.
- Ensure integrity of perpetual inventory reports by assisting in the preparation and analysis of weekly inventory roll-forward. Research discrepancies with plant personnel and report root cause and corrective action as needed.
- Analyze and prepare closing journal entries and account reconciliations supporting inventory and other accounts, including the accurate maintenance of important estimates for excess and obsolete inventory.
- Maintain non-precious metal material standards for all inventory parts
- Support with internal/external audits, physical inventory and other project that will from time to time arise.
- Continuously improve work processes
- Cross train with other finance functions (A/P, Billing, etc.) to provide effective backup
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
- Support fellow team members in the achievement of their goals.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 1-4 years accounting experience working in a manufacturing environment. Precious Metal experience a plus
- Strong business acumen and the ability to interact with multiple levels of management
- Experience working with various computer ERP systems a plus
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
