SUMMARY
Working with the department heads, the IT Director develops, implements, and evaluates systems and procedures throughout the organizations. This position has responsibilities for the purchase, installation and technical support of computer hardware and software; and oversees database design for all companies. Plans, develops and coordinates information technology systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates:
JOB DUTIES
- Oversees IT operations.
- Leads team of IT staff.
- Designs and implements IT strategies and infrastructure.
- Identifies and eliminates cyber security risks.
- Analyzes business requirements for IT needs and systems.
- Works to increase user satisfaction.
- Evaluates IT operations with regard to established goals.
- Communicates within IT team and across departments as needed.
- Assesses need for new equipment and software.
- Builds and maintains relationships with outside vendors.
- Manages company help desk.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Consults with management to determine scope and priorities of projects and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
- Manages the development, implementation, installation, and operation of information and functional systems for the organization.
- Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine costs and impact, and address problems.
- Selects, trains, and evaluates performance of subordinate IT Staff.
- Working with department leaders, coordinates technology training as needed.
- Provides support for the security and telephone systems.
- Maintains software and hardware list.
- Oversees the design, implementation and support of local databases.
- Manages the Help Desk Software to ensure ease of use and compliance with SLA’s.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for managing Divisional/Branch Network Administrators, ERP System administrator, Business intelligence Administrator, and Programmer Analyst.
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- Sound understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects.
- Solid working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocols.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team oriented.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s or master’s degree and or 15 years of work experience is preferred, with seven or more years of direct involvement of managerial and technical leadership experience of IT functions and ERP business systems and direct support of the business-related functionality in manufacturing.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
- Must be able to travel to all facilities to perform job responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend technical instructions for computer-related hardware and software.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic understanding of algebraic, geometrical, and arithmetical concepts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving many variables in specialized situations.
