What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cast Operator position at Steeltech LLC?
Advanced Centrifugals, Ltd., located in Cambridge Wisconsin has an opening for a Die Cast Operator on its first shift foundry operation. This is a great opportunity to join a progressive and growing company. Applicants with prior foundry experience are preferred.
The Cast Operator position consists of preparing dies to be poured, pouring tubes and other related work. Foundry experience is a definite plus, but we will train motivated candidates. Compensation range is $18.00 - $20.00 hourly depending on experience. These challenging and rewarding career opportunities offer excellent compensation and benefits. . Scope: Set-up and operation of die-cast spinning machines. Work utilizing the required safety equipment. Keep a clean and organized casting deck. Perform duties in a positive and team like manner.
Education: High School Degree or equivalent is preferred.
Experience: Pay based upon experience. Must demonstrate 3 months proficiency before receiving the pay for that level.
Machinery Operating Requirements: Hand held pyrometer, tape measure, O.D. and I.D. calipers, overhead cranes, fork truck hand tools, air arc.
Trainee:
· Must learn and understand the following applications
Level C Duties
· Must be able to proficient in the duties of a trainee
· Produce castings in a safe and productive manner.
· Demonstrate proficiency in start up instructions, operational, and shut down instructions of casting machines
· Identifies and marks castings with job number, alloy, and per routing instructions.
· Perform funnel and ladle repair when required
· Must be proficient in crane operations
· Must be proficient in pouring
Cover preparation, die operating temperature, wash application, spray lance operation
· Wash preparation (mixing)
· Preheat oven
· Die set-up
· Work overtime hours when required
Level B Duties
· All C level duties plus the following
· Meet or exceed less metal goals
· Performs to exceed daily, weekly, and monthly numbers and do his/her best
· Understand and communicate all emergency shutdown procedures
· Calculate Die RPM from chart
· Set-up stray lance tip
· Solve routine casting quality problems
· Operate the shot blast, straightening press, pressure tester, and cutoff saw
Level A Duties
· Train new employees in the operational instructions of the department
· Manage inventory of consumable goods
· Turn in requisition for consumables to Foundry Manager in a timely manner that keeps the department from depletion of goods
· Direct the activities of Level B and Level C employees
· Schedule work to best utilize manpower, casting machines, and raw materials
· Perform maintenance on casting machines and spray cart
