Summary:
- The America's Accounting Center of Expertise (CoE) supports Client's monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and financial close processes and has high visibility to senior leadership supporting Client's UCAN Finance organization.
- This team focuses on ensuring accurate accounting treatment for complex areas of accounting, evaluating internal controls, and establishing efficient close processes.
- This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with various Local Country Finance contacts, the Costa Rica Shared Services Center (SSC) and other members of the Accounting CoE.
Responsibilities:
- Review revenue contracts and operational transactions and apply proper US GAAP accounting treatment and completion of related documentation for audit purposes
- Complete manual journal entries for Month End Close and prepare/review account reconciliations
- Partner with cross-functional business teams to ensure accurate/timely reporting of monthly financial data, including required US GAAP/management adjustments and accounting support
- Review of result (trend, variance, growth analyses) for areas of support
- Execute close processes including communication of task results to key business stakeholders
- Lead process improvement initiatives and drive implementation and monitoring post-implementation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- Must have ASC 606 experience.
- Demonstration of key accounting/finance proficiencies and qualifications; typically 2-5 years of working experience
- Ability to handle ambiguity and to apply professional judgement
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and financial analysis, including understanding of internal control requirements and relevant business environments
- Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities and to effectively escalate or resolve issues to meet deadlines
- Process improvement and process innovation experience desired
- Experience using JDE and consolidation tools (i.e., Hyperion Financial Management) preferred
- Adaptable, self-starter with strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, often cross-functionally
