What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Engineer position at Stefanini?
- This candidate must be able to understand, execute, and document moderate to complex operational tasks and work requests that are assigned and have experience in moderate to complex research and fact finding using various tools and informational sources
- Working in a 24/7 Service Support Center, the successful candidate will provide operations support with virtualized O-RAN systems deployed nation-wide
- Candidate should be able to quickly analyze service and system issues, determine corrective actions, and implement to restore services
- Candidate should be able to evaluate, and escalate as needed complex issues to senior members of the team
- Participate in root-cause analysis for failure and develop corrective actions
- Corrective actions can range from configuration changes to developing new operational procedures
- Contribute to on-going process improvement reviews using Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics to eliminate errors
- Provide support to Market/field teams in troubleshooting RF and O-RAN systems
- Engages and escalates issues with vendors when critical/time sensitive support and resolution is required
- Work with technical writers/engineers to document final process configurations and MOPs
- Participate in providing on-call support on a rotational basis
- Qualifications:
- 10 years' experience
- Basic understanding and experience in 5G ORAN split functions (7-2x, RU, DU, CUCP, CUUP)
- Proficient knowledge of ESXi/vSphere and bare-metal technologies
- Hands-on experience on Linux command line, AWS, and Kubernetes
- Basic understanding and experience with RF and antenna theory knowledge
- Includes CSR, DU and timing configurations
- Understanding of latency considerations and issues from gNB to Data Center locations
- Understanding and experience with virtualized networks, orchestration and automation across a large network architecture
- Thorough understanding of RAN/O-RAN architecture
- Experience with drive test equipment, processes, and interpreting results
- Experience with ITIL framework, and Service Now
