Job Summary
The role of the District Data Specialist was established for the purpose/s of District data accuracy in regards to all District systems and the state SIS, helping District leadership retrieve needed data to track student performance; assist the District with keeping an updated online presence for regular and timely communication with District stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To excel in this role, the individual must meet the following key responsibilities:
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: The role requires frequent walking and standing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is generally stable, with minimal exposure to unusual temperatures, noise, or hazards. The position requires extended and non-traditional hours to fulfill job duties, as well as participation in organization-sponsored events and meetings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To excel in this role, the individual must meet the following key responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy of all data being collected by various systems used by the District.
- Ensure that all staff and students have needed access to the systems they are assigned to.
- Conduct regular uploads to ISBE’s SIS for accurate state reporting.
- Provide support in gathering and reporting of student assessment data. Work directly with the Director of Technology, Administration, Teachers, and support staff as needed.
- Conduct data uploads to a variety of systems including by not limited to ISBE SIS, PowerSchool, G-Suite, and a variety of online curriculum systems.
- Work with the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning on the scheduling of workshops, assistant with ordering of materials, and providing staff with evidence of completion from professional development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
- Assist with implementation of district curriculum, instruction and assessments in regards to data.
- Assist with implementation, and maintenance of new systems integrating with Clever.
- Assist the Director of Technology with maintaining SOPPA compliance.
- Assist with the creation, and management of student, and staff accounts across different systems including Active Directory, G Suite, PowerSchool, etc.
- Attend workshops/conferences to learn about new practices and procedures for data systems.
- Assist in the review and selection of educational software.
- Assist in the maintenance of the technology websites and social media.
- Prepares documentation (e.g. user guides, recommendations, reports, instructions, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
- Assist with yearly student Chromebook inventory, distribution, and return.
- Provide basic level support of classroom devices when appropriate.
- Provide reports on instructional technology usage in the buildings to Administration.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality in the performance of all assigned duties.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Director of Technology and/or District Administrators.

Qualifications
- Experience with school SIS systems. 3 years experience with PowerSchool preferred.
- Experience with ISBE State Reporting and data uploads.
- Familiarity with G Suite.
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
