What does the job involve?
This position will be responsible for supporting the organization in Purchasing, OP and Kanban departments in maintaining supply inventory levels required for effective company operations. This position will be accountable for working with the purchasers in negotiating agreements with potential vendors as well as being charged with conducting regular price comparisons to ensure that STEICO is being provided with the best price for each product purchased.
What will my responsibilities include?
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors.
- Run purchasing workbench and exception messages, vendor delivery reports, and open PO reports.
- Maintain accurate reports.
- Communicate between STEICO and vendors regarding open order reports and priority items.
- Update MRP system to ensure proper alignment and accurately update notes.
- Convert, update, amend and correct PO’s in ERP system based on direction from management.
- Compare product deliveries with issued PO’s. Contact vendors with discrepancies.
- Support Kan Ban area by reconciling inventory with vendor and creating PO’s to reflect material issues.
- Verify with vendors orders are ready for pickup. Prepare Drivers Logs for scheduled pickups.
- Verify fitting orders have been delivered. Notify appropriate personnel of urgent shipments. Ensure priority orders are being worked at receiving inspection.
- Return salvaged fittings back to stock on open jobs.
- Create purchase order requisitions for items on workbench.
- Create RPO documentation for return shipments including replacements or credit memos.
- Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Requires working knowledge of computer, scanner, facsimile machine, copier and any other standard office equipment.
