Job Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Tester will assess system functionality & workflow through manual and automated processes. This position is responsible for identifying and reporting glitches, defects and errors throughout development and ongoing when changes are made after implementation. You will assess and test various systems including third party vendor integrations. This position will collaborate with project managers, risk analysts, business analysts, and stakeholders to perform testing according to business needs, processes and policy requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identify appropriate functions and processes to test and validate system configuration and integration
  • Conduct tests to ensure software performs according to user requirements, company policies and established guidelines.
  • Analyze general function, accuracy, reliability and validity of results in compliance with industry and business standards.
  • Provide continuous review and recommendations for improvement of processes
  • Execute test cases under varying circumstances
  • Communicate, document and evaluate test results
  • Identify defects, log, and report program bugs and glitches
  • Track defects and help troubleshoot errors
  • Document test scripts in QA tracking database and execute according to procedure
  • Communicate with other departments to drive QA efforts
  • Provide updates, share information and participate during meetings
  • Follow SOP and change control process established for consistency and reporting purposes
  • Document all test results for sign off and approval prior to deployment into production

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of experience as a QA Tester or in a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of software and database testing design and processes
  • Familiar with using project management tracking and reporting software
  • Background in the automotive dealership or automotive finance and lease industry considered strong asset
  • Experience working with loan origination systems, DealerTrack, RouteOne, Shaw and LexisNexis.

Communication Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing, proofing and editorial skills. Ability to translate, summarize and communicate complex problems.

Computer Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office: MS Excel, MS-Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Visio, OneNote, etc.

Other Skills: Ability to implement change management principles to communicate change initiatives to all levels of employees. Ability to work autonomously and in a team.

Work Schedule: This position requires the ability to work various shifts, including some weekends and overtime to accommodate business needs. Typically, between the hours of 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday. Travel is required 10% of the time.
