Senior Data Engineer

Stellar IT has an immediate opportunity for a Data Engineer for a Onsite position with a client based in Miramar, FL. 

The Sr. Data Engineer will have extensive work with ETL, Data Modelling, Azure.

This is a 6 month contract position with one of my direct end clients looking to hire someone within 2 weeks.

Candidates must have work authorization. Third-party C2C candidates are not eligible for this role.

Job Description:

The primary focus of this role will be to support internal organizations in implementing and
delivering their strategy and results. The Sr Data Solutions Engineer, Cruise Products is responsible
for building, managing, and optimizing reusable enterprise data pipelines for onboard systems
effectively and in a timely manner through the development lifecycle to be used my internal
consumers, such as business/data analysts and data scientists. The engineer would use both
technical and analytical skills to understand and solve business problems (for cruise products
onboard) using available resources and current technology stack, while ensuring data governance
and data security compliance.
Required Skills
1. 5 years of experience in a data/cloud engineering role
2. 5 years of experience working and creating datasets for a data warehouse
3. Clear understanding of data modeling patterns (relational and dimensional)
4. 5 years of experience with ETL development tools, Azure Data Factory (ADF)
5. 3 years of cloud experience, Azure preferred
6. Experienced in using best practices in designing, building and managing data pipelines that
require data transformations as well as metadata and workload management
7. Experienced in working with large, heterogeneous datasets in building and optimizing data
pipelines, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets using traditional and new data
integration technologies (such as ETL, ELT, data replication, change data captures, message-
oriented data movement, API design, stream data integration and data virtualization)
8. Experienced in performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to
identify issues and opportunities for improvement
9. Expert level knowledge with programming languages including SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL
10. Expert level knowledge with relational SQL databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
11. Experience with NoSQL databases are a plus
12. Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
13. Experience with a scripting language: Python, Java, Scala, etc.
14. Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers
15. Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
16. Strive to provide orientation and direction to junior engineers requiring their expertise
17. Experienced with continuous integration and continuous deployment practices
18. Ability to approach complex problems with creativity and display analytical and problem-solving
skills
19. Display curiosity in understanding the data for the specific area of responsibility
20. Knowledge and experience working with agile methodologies and tools (such as Jira) a plus
Required Education
 Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
