Product Managers are responsible for ensuring the right product is built that balances users’ needs, measurable business outcomes, and technical feasibility. Other responsibilities include:
- Establish a product’s vision, strategy, outcome-driven roadmap, and product backlog
- Communicate the vision, strategy, roadmap, and backlog to different audiences with a tailored message
- Define and track product metrics in order to demonstrate success and inform product decisions
- Work with other teams within a well-defined portfolio to deliver cross-product value
- Generate assumptions, design experiments, and collect data to de-risk product decisions
- Write user stories and manage a continuously updated backlog
- Participate in user research trips working with warfighters all around the world
- Collect customer requirements
- Determine technical issues
- Minimum of 1-year of leadership experience
- Experience with lean startup principles and agile software development
- Experience launching new products as well as improving existing ones
- Experience leading or supporting user research
- Able to work closely and communicate with designers and engineers within a balanced team
- Able to facilitate meetings and ensure the expected outcome is met
- Able to break down complex problems into small measurable parts, build feature stories, and prioritize the backlog
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to the audience
- Experience as a designer or engineer a plus
- Minimum “Interim Secret” w/in 30 days of hire is required, while Top Secret clearance eligible for SCI is preferred
