As Stemilt’s Safety Auditor you will be responsible for evaluating and designing safety protocols, procedures, audits, and safe practices within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and standards. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

 

The Safety Auditor will focus on the implementation / improvement of programs, procedures, and policies to optimize safety performance and results while ensuring, engagement, and best practices.  This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of safety compliance and practices. This position supports four thousand Stemilters and it’s required to deliver extraordinary customer service at all levels.  Excellent leadership and communication skills a must.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety of Stemilters: Working with Sr. Manager, Talent Management to have safety at the top of everything we do. Working with HC leadership to keep safety at the top of mind and all Stemilters safe all day every day.
  • Conduct thorough audits of safety protocols, procedures, and practices across all departments and facilities.
  • Work with government entities on Safety related investigations
  • Review documentation, records, and reports to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
  • Identify potential safety hazards, risks, and deficiencies through observation, interviews, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers and supervisors to develop corrective action plans to address identified safety issues.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to improve safety practices and prevent accidents, injuries, and incidents.
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and follow up to ensure effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Work with Learning and Development to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on safety procedures, protocols, and best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to safety practices and standards.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports documenting findings, recommendations, and action plans.
  • Communicate audit results and recommendations to key stakeholders.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. (Preferred)
  • Proven experience in safety auditing, risk assessment, or occupational health and safety management.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, L and I, ANSI, NFPA).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and root causes of safety issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision in documentation and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with safety management software systems.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

Location: This position is located in Wenatchee, with travel to other facilities in Eastern part of WA state.
